About

Welcome to AlaskanPanhandle.com, a place that I hope to be a portal to the rugged beauty and vibrant culture of Southeast Alaska.

Let me introduce myself: I’m Seth, a dad, father (not yours…), and hopefully your guide to this amazing region that I call home.

I was born with a born with a passion for the great outdoors and moved extensively before finding my calling in Alaska’s untamed wilderness. Well, I guess I’m not sure about finding my calling but I do love it here!

From cruising the Inside Passage as a 3-day tourist to foraging for wild mushrooms in rural Alaska I feel as if I’ve barely scratched the surface of what this small part of the state has to offer.

So buckle up as we explore everything about the state. Whether you’re a local or a visitor I’m sure you’ll find something of interest here. After all, we were tourists before we ended up permanent transplants. In our blog (and hopefully emails in the future) we’ll cover animals, food, lodging, trails, hiking, camping, and just about everything else that Southeast Alaska has to offer (which, in case you didn’t know, is a lot…).

Oh, and you’ll probably get to know my wife and our little monkeys if you stick around long enough.

If you’re looking for a place to get started, check out a few of our recent articles on the Blog to get up to speed:
